Tianjin, China – A landmark lighting project has transformed the Grand Canal and Haihe River Cultural Belt in Tianjin, where more than 1,000 units of high-performance 4×25W LED Outdoor Linear Water Ripple Wall Washers have been installed, bringing a dynamic blend of art, culture, and innovation to one of China’s most historic waterways.
This large-scale installation plays a central role in enhancing the visual narrative of Tianjin’s cultural heritage zones, using customized lighting effects to highlight waterfront architecture, bridge structures, and landscape features. The project contributes to a broader initiative to revitalize the Grand Canal and Haihe River as immersive night-tourism and cultural landmarks.
Each wall washer features 4×25W high-efficiency LED modules, offering customized color temperatures of 1800K, 3000K, and lake blue, perfectly mimicking the natural softness of moonlight and the flowing charm of rippling water. With a wide 120°×75° beam angle, the fixtures create sweeping textures and reflections on the water surface and surrounding walls, producing a poetic ripple lighting effect unique to this project.
Built to withstand harsh outdoor environments, the units boast an IP65 protection rating, a durable grey housing, and operate reliably in temperatures ranging from -10°C to +45°C. An independent heat dissipation design ensures stability and long-term performance, even under continuous use.
Lighting control is powered by flexible DMX protocols (5/7 channels), offering a variety of modes including DMX, test, jump, gradient, pulse, auto, static, and manual. Each fixture features linear dimming (0–100%) and synchronous/asynchronous strobe effects (0–20Hz), enabling both subtle ambient lighting and dynamic, rhythmic patterns that enhance artistic storytelling along the waterfront.
By blending cutting-edge lighting technology with cultural preservation and urban renewal, this project sets a new benchmark for architectural and environmental lighting in China. The Grand Canal and Haihe River now serve not only as historic symbols but also as luminous canvases that captivate locals and visitors alike.
