Changzhou, China– The Water Tower Cultural Tourism Project in Changzhou has reached a dazzling new milestone with the installation of a world-class architectural lighting system designed to transform the iconic landmark into a radiant beacon of culture, history, and innovation.
The lighting upgrade features a combination of state-of-the-art technologies, including the powerful 850W LED outdoor gobo projector, 4500W high-intensity advertising light, and a vibrant array of RGBW LED flood lights, including both 40x10W and 80x10W units. These are complemented by a dynamic 50W full-color laser light, creating an immersive, programmable lighting show that brings the Water Tower to life each evening.
“The lighting design integrates art, technology, and storytelling,” said a project spokesperson. “We wanted to celebrate Changzhou’s industrial heritage while creating a modern tourist attraction. The lighting effects highlight architectural features of the tower, project cultural motifs with high-definition gobos, and wash the structure in brilliant, programmable color schemes.”
The 850W gobo projector casts intricate cultural imagery across the tower’s facade, changing with the seasons and special events. The 4500W advertising light is used for bold branding and festival greetings visible from a great distance, boosting the site’s visibility and drawing tourists citywide. The RGBW flood lights provide smooth color transitions and dynamic lighting choreography across the structure and surrounding landscape, while the full-color laser adds animated beams and atmospheric effects that enhance the visitor experience.
This landmark lighting installation marks a key development in Changzhou’s efforts to grow its cultural tourism appeal and smart city profile, blending technology and tradition in a visually stunning tribute to the past and future.
